While shows and feature films about notorious, blood-soaked drug empires have taken audiences to all manner of secret locations across the world, one infamous place closer to home that is seldom referenced is the Appalachians. The vast and winding mountain range on the East Coast has long held a degree of mystery due to the difficulty of navigating a region where roads often can't get through. However, it has been known for housing some of the country's worst drug epidemics. A new drama thriller film called Devil's Peak takes us into Appalachia's ominous, wooded depths to tell the story of a family torn apart by a meth empire. The film is set to release in theaters on Feb. 17, and a new trailer has dropped, courtesy of Screen Media Films, to give us a first-hand look at this dark story.
